More Toy Than Machine
An Nick’s Birthday Tea Party, Jakob asked me if i thought of my body as a machine.
I told him I think of my body as a toy.
I think it’s really important to have fun with it.
And I beleive in having a lot of fun.
By way of explanation:
On my way home, I was waiting for the GTrain, listening to some cromeo, and sort of bop-pacing to the music from one end of the platform to the other and back, landing each step on flat foot, but going all the way up to my toes before taking the next step.
each step is like a toe lift, and the tempo of my bounce was changing with the song. I’m sure some people were looking at me a little funny, but I was looking at the tiles to stay in the zone. it was a good little workout, actually, to probably 4 or 5 songs. I was thirsty when the train came.
I was wearing my red airwalk moon boots, and my flourescent puffy kid jacket. sometimes i like to dress like a 7 year old.
So while i was waiting for the train, i made a little physical challenge to bounce to the music and excersize my calfs, entertaining myself while passing the time. And i had my body all dressed up just how i wanted.
as good as jump rope nintendo and barbie combined!
